Bob the Builder has gotten a new look in 2015 as you can see from the episode link below. Moving from a cartoon to CGI, it may be a discerning look if you have been a previous fan of the show. However, going forward, it places Bob the Builder and all the characters in line with the trend of more sophisticated kid programming, without losing the appeal of content.
My kids and I took a look at some of the new Bob the Builder episodes. They were enthralled with the first episode, though it did take me some time to get used to the more realistic look of Bob and all the characters. However, once I got over it (and my kids didn’t seem phased as it the way of most kids), it was a great show – as always!
The new-look Bob is still the same Bob that audiences know and love. His denims might have been replaced with a hi-vis jacket but his chunky boots, yellow hard hat and checked shirt all remain, ensuring TV’s best-loved builder remains just as recognizable as ever. With his trusty tool belt now jam-packed with all manner of handy kit, Bob is ready to go.
Bob and his team, including business partner Wendy (now voiced by Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt) and teenage apprentice builder Leo, work across the bustling metropolis of Spring City and nearby town of Fixham. Bob’s crew of talking vehicles includes digger scoop, digger/dumper Muck and mobile crane Lofty.
