Halloween is here and so are the sweet treats we hand out on Halloween night. (In my case, unfortunately nibble on before, during and after too.)

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the best candy to give out at Halloween. Jet.com had a poll where it asked its visitors about what candy they like to give and eat. The results listed the top 10 Halloween candy for kids and the top 10 Halloween candy for adults.

Now, the CandyStore.com has posted its findings, from the orders it has received over the past 10 years, for the most popular Halloween Candy by State. So if you wonder what your fellow citizens crave for confections, or what gift to give when only goodies will do, then take a look at this list.

Most Popular Halloween Candy By State

Being from Massachusetts, it was a classic to see Sour Patch Kids listed as the number one favorite candy consumed here. Though clearly I live in the wrong state, since Oregon, Iowa and Wyoming is the place to be for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. (See, three states picked it! Smart people!)

Though in addition to Massachusetts, Nebraska, Maine AND Illinois also picked Sour Patch Kids. However, it looks like the clear Halloween Candy favorite is Candy Corn with at least five states having it as their number one. Oh, and apparently, Indiana likes things hot and spicy with their Hot Tamales.

Do you think your state’s top candy picks is correct? What is your favorite candy to give and receive? Need some alternative Halloween Candy ideas? Check out this post too.
