Sometimes we want to throw a party or the kids’ are begging for a massive sleepover, but our time, energy and frankly, our funds, don’t align with a party of massive proportions.

One idea that I stumbled upon in a Whole Foods magazine is a Popcorn Party. Yup. Popcorn Party. So start poppin’ people.

Make tons of popcorn, whether microwave-popped, air-popped or stove-popped. Place in several bowls with different seasonings, such as:

  • honey and peanuts
  • cinnamon sugar
  • parmesan cheese
  • chili powder
  • chocolate chips and mini-marshmallows
  • salt and pepper
  • ranch dressing mix
  • trail mix

If it is a kid party, make it even more fun by having them make the various popcorn flavored bowls, and serve with juices and sodas. If adults, you could even pair it with certain wines for a fun flair.

Most microwave popcorn comes in boxes of three and ranges in price from $2 to $3. There is even a new Orville Redenbacher Popcorn that just launched, where the microwave popcorn bag becomes the bowl. (It is really cool – see my video.)

So at less than one dollar per bag, you can throw an affordable party for anyone. Pop away!
