Peppermint Beverage Recipe
Warm a cup of low fat milk in the microwave for about 30 seconds to one minute. Stir in the middle of the heat up for even temperature. Or add a cup to a saucepan and warm it up for about 5 minutes the old-fashioned-stove-top way.
Mix in a few drops of peppermint extract (look for the real thing, and not an imitation, in the baking or spice section at the grocery store.) Then break a candy cane into small pieces (or crush if giving to a younger child to reduce choking hazards). Set aside.
Take the heated milk and put into a blender for two minutes. Or if you are super snazzy, use a frother. Pour into cups and top with the crushed candy canes. Add a small candy cane for a stirrer.
Then sit back and enjoy the milky minty goodness. Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Mmmmm.
