As I write this post, I am on the cusp of a reveal that will be forever in the Disney books. I don’t know what blog entries will follow this one, as I cover this grand opening of the New Fantasyland. Yet, I know that whatever words fill this screen will be ones that honor the vision and the dreams of Walt Disney. It is a great honor to be invited to this event, and it is a responsibility that I take seriously.

Why? Because it impacts your own future Disney dreams with my lessons learned and successes shared in my family’s journey. Why? Because not everyone gets to be here, so it is my goal to bring you virtually along for the amazing ride.

“A dream is a wish your heart makes”.

Unfortunately, Walt Disney was not able to see his dream of the Magic Kingdom, and all that followed, come to fruition as he passed before it opened, But in a way, this new opening of Fantasyland extends his legacy. It also honors all of the imagineers, visionaries and leaders who have been striving to this goal. The many hours, days and years they imagined and vision this very day; a once in a lifetime event.

Who knows what I will discover, and who knows what my children will remember. Yet, the next 3 days will be filled with flying elephants and mysteries of the sea. Seventy-two hours filled with beasts and beauties. Plus, hundreds of minutes full of music and jubilee!

Walt Disney’s original wish was that each guest, who walks through the gates, is transported to a magical land full of stories and fantasy. On December 6, 2012, this land will open to the world, and is truly, for many, a happily ever after.
