After a post from a Facebook fan, I realized I better explain more about the resurgance of Metrowest Mamas. It has been on my list of things to write, but something has always popped in front.
For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, you first knew me as Metrowestmama on Twitter, on my Metrowestmama.Wordpress blog and the Metrowest Mamas Facebook page. However, when I decided to branch outside of just being a local mom blogger, I became Charlene Chronicles and many of you followed me over here, of which I am so grateful.
Fast forward to this past week when Metrowest Mamas came back.
I have been listening to many of you over the past 8 months. Some of you love Charlene Chronicles because it is everything you need; local events, local kids activities and other awesomeness. But some of you were getting a bit perturbed though, because you don’t live here in Massachusetts and weren’t interested in having your Facebook feeds listing local stuff. Then on yet another spectrum, some local Moms wanted a quick place to get links to activities and events and did not want to sift through other Charlene Chronicles posts.
It is such a hard balance.
So I decided, right or wrong, to try Metrowest Mamas on Facebook once again. This time, I am only listing local events and activities. Everything else will be on the Charlene Chronicles‘ Facebook page: videos, pictures, questions, posts and more. Some of you may end up liking both pages. Others one or the other.
On the website, there will be a Metrowest Mamas badge on the sidebar. So when you come to Charlene Chronicles and are just interested in local events, one click will take you to all the details. The main body of the blog will be general, generic goodness. However, I am going to start dedicating some of my posts to fashion and beauty, and I am going to be combining my fitness and health posts. So you will be seeing some icon changes over the next month or two. All in all, it should be some fun content.
Anyway, I hope it will please the majority of you and hopefully not too many will be upset with the changes. At this particular moment, it is how I think it would best work. However, I am always listening, so feel free to let me know what you think. Love it or hate it? The one great thing about Facebook and the Internet is nothing has to stay the same. But what will stay the same is my desire to bring you cool discoveries, funny posts, fun giveaways, and a passion and a sincerity for it all.
What do you think?
I think it sounds like the perfect way for readers to access the content they want quickly and easily. For now, I’m all over the Metrowest Mama stuff, but in July when I’m living in New York, I’ll be looking for your more generic posts. See that? You just kept a reader from falling by the wayside. (P.S. I would never fall by your wayside. I heart you too much.)
This is a really smart move, and I think it’s a win-win for your readers. It’s a testament to your hard work, good writing and diverse content that you’ve been able to expand your readership so far beyond the local area. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I want both, so it works for me 🙂 I love that you can change it up or change it back, and that you listen to your readers. You’re so good to us.
