With some key entertaining holidays coming up, I thought I would share a unique appetizer recipe that is great for kids and adults, and is easy to make – which is why it is perfect for Charlene Chronicles’ weekly #makeitmonday post!
Crispy Mushroom Blue Cheese Appetizer
Serves 2-4 people so up the amounts for more guests (courtesy of Stonefire Flatbreads)
- At least two Garlic Naan Flatbread slices
- 4 tbsp of Basil Pesto
- 1 tbsp of Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese
- 2 cups of sautéed mushrooms
- 1/4 cup of crumbled cooked bacon (optional – and you can also use store bought crumbled cooked bacon or make your own.)
Heat a large sauté pan with the Olive Oil. Once hot, place the Naan bread in the pan and cook until crispy (about 2 minutes per side.) In the interim, sauté the mushrooms in another pan. Once both are cooked, place the Naan bread on a serving plate. Spread the pesto on top, followed by the mushrooms, blue cheese and bacon bits. Cut into pieces and serve with bubble water or a cold bottle of Pinot Grigio.
Yum!
