The Pink Thread Project

It’s October, which means apple picking, cooler weather and shorter days. Yet, it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are many organizations and businesses that fundraise and support this cause, but there is one effort that I thought was new and unique that I wanted to share with you. It’s called the Pink Thread Project.

The Pink Thread Project is a way that anyone can elevate awareness of the need for preventative care and screening and show their support for BreastCancer.org and their efforts for funding, education and research. Now through the end of the month, Lands’ End, the organization spearheading the Pink Thread Project.

Just order and apply one of six pink thread icons on any Lands’ End item that can be embroidered, such as their towels, totes, sweaters and shirts. Then Lands’ End will donate $4.50 from each $6 embroidery fee to the BreastCancer.org.

Other ways you can support the Pink Thread Project is to share an image of who or what your ‘pink thread’ is in your life, on Facebook (LandsEnd), Twitter (@LandsEnd) or Instagram (@LandsEnd) and tag Lands’ End with #PinkThread. Then Land’s End will donate $1 per photo, up to $10,000 to BreastCancer.org.

Head to your local Lands’ End retailer (Sears or Lands’ End Stores) in October, and purchase any fall/winter pink women’s apparel and accessary item. Lands’ End will donate 10% of the purchase price to BreastCancer.org

Lastly, you can purchase Lands’ End exclusive women’s Pink Swim Tee in pink (you can also have it embroidered!) and $5 will be donated to BreastCancer.org.

Simple shopping can be simply life changing for all women.
