I cannot believe I found a gem within the heart of Boston’s Seaport District. You don’t notice it in the shadows of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Yet, after spending a complimentary night there, the Element Boston Seaport Hotel‘s prime location provides easy access to restaurants, museums, shopping centers, nightlife, colleges, kid activities and more.

Here are the seven reasons why you should book your next stay in Boston at the Element Seaport Boston. (If you don’t believe me, ask my kids. They were begging to come back and we hadn’t even checked out yet!)

Family-Friendly Suites

What we loved the most about the Element Boston Seaport Hotel is that it is an extended stay hotel. While that often means a hotel catering towards executives and business personnel, it is also great for families. Almost all of the 180 suites (yes, suites!) feature a large bathroom, a bedroom with a TV, a separate lounge area (with a pull out couch for the kids) with its own TV. So parents can watch TV or stay up late while the kids sleep in the other room!

Kitchen

Rounding out the suite is a a kitchenette with a full refrigerator, stove top, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, various kitchen items like pots, pans and utensils. There is a little table that can be pulled out for eating. Having a kitchenette on a family vacation is superb. You don’t have to eat out at every meal like most hotel stay vacations. You can stock the kitchen with the snacks and treats your family loves most. Plus, it’s a perfect way to save money or manage dietary needs.

Breakfast Everyday

What is even more stupendous is the fact that the Element Hotel has a complimentary RISE breakfast every morning. It is an experience! They have smoothies, cereal, eggs, bacon, egg breakfast sandwiches, muffins and pastries, yogurt coffee and more. They even have soy milk for your coffee or cereal! You can eat the lobby with the generous tables or take it to go back to your room. On select nights of the week, they have a RELAX social hour in the evening. There are games on the tables, and complimentary wine, soda and mini-bites. Not as family friendly as I would have liked, but still a nice thing to do.

Its Green

The hotel makes efforts to be environmentally friendly. They use metal flatware, glasses and ceramics instead of plastics. During their RELAX social hour they have an attendant pouring sodas, water and wine from large carafes rather than serving individual bottles.

Instead of small plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles in the suite bathrooms, they have amenity dispensers instead. Other green room features include dual-flush toilets, in-room filtered tap water to reduce plastic water bottles, recycling bins, and low-flow faucets and fixtures. Other green features are compact fluorescent light bulbs, energy-efficient appliances, environmentally-friendly “Do Not Disturb” door magnets. There are also recycled tire flooring and mountings for art, and soy-based fabrics.

There is also recycling bins throughout the hotel, and a saline swimming pool.

Pet Friendly

The Element Boston Seaport Hotel has a Love That Dog program. It’s complimentary amenities for canine travel companions include a Heavenly Bed®-inspired doggie bed, food and water bowls with a floor mat and other necessities. There is no fee for dogs 60 lbs. and under. So, it is furry friendly, and the whole family (including those with four legs) can be together.

On Site Activities

The hotel offers fun onsite. There is an all-natural, heated saline swimming pool, and a fitness center with Life Fitness cardio machines, strength-training equipment. Definitely check out the stationary kinetic bike where you can power your personal electronics during a workout! There is also complimentary access to “Your Trainer” – a virtual personal trainer app featuring three workouts.

There are also complimentary Bikes-to-Borrow program for off-property exploring. In warmer weather, hang out on the outdoor patio with a self-serve grill.

Even though you might not need these resources on a family vacation, there is a business center. Yet, families can power all of their devices (including kid iPads!) with the fast and free WiFi access throughout the hotel.  There are self-service laundry facilities in case the kids go through their clothes super fast.

Great Location

The hotel’s prime location in the Seaport District provides access to activities and attractions in and around Boston. You can walk to the Children’s Museum or New England Aquarium, or just take a walk and see the Cruise ships and yachts.

Purchase a Boston Trolley Tours pass for a few days. It acts as transportation around the city, plus it is a fun way to learn about Boston landmarks and history! As you listen, it brings you near places like the Boston Public Library, Boston Common, Museum of Science, and other family friendly attractions.

There are restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel if you don’t want to eat in your suite. Let alone around the city. However, feel free to store leftovers in the fridge for a quick and easy meals on the other nights of your stay!

We really, really enjoyed the hotel. From the amenities, the location and the design of the hotel and rooms, the kiddos are begging to go back and spend a week! So if you need to book a place for a night, weekend, a backyard Boston staycation or a whole week, definitely consider booking there!
