I know, I know, a “New-Year-New-You” kind of post. They are a dime a dozen this time of year. But I’m going to throw one more at you, because, hey, it IS a new year and many of us use this opportunity to make changes in our home and health.
So if you are looking for some ideas, consider the whole Plant-based Protein thing.
(You probably think I’m about to tell you to start juicing kale…)
Why Eat More Protein Anyway?
There is lots of research about why having enough protein in your diet is essential for feeling full and feeling fabulous. Protein helps skin and nails look lusturious and it builds muscles and marvelousness. I’m not making it up, you can read about it here. While I’m all for a good cut and color at the hair salon and a mani/pedi at the spa, increasing daily protein in your diet can do wonders without having to give a spa service tip.
You can also read about how having enough protein in your diet helps you feel satisfied so you are less likely to munch during the day (and we all know what we munch on…) It has something to do with the consistency of blood sugars and keeping your body, blood and metabolism stable so you don’t nosh on bad stuff (and your body doesn’t store the bad stuff in your booty).
Okay, so hopefully I’ve proved that protein is a big part of being healthy, feeling healthy, new-years-resolution, kind of thing. So, what is Plant Based Protein? Read more about it here!
