A new company called DailyFeats believes in the power of small actions and shared motivation.
It’s a free online and mobile application that has taken the popular concepts of to-do lists, checklists, and calendar items, and added motivation and inspiration to help you reach your personal goals. It gives you reminders, incentives, and motivation to accomplish smaller everyday feats on the path toward your ultimate goal.
For example, your broad goal may be to spend more time with the family. DailyFeats breaks it down to smaller feats like “FamilyDinner” or “Tuckinyourkid”.
You earn points to redeem for rewards to keep you motivated, and have friends to keep you engaged. You can browse all the different feats and see the details of what it is, how to do it, how many points you get, and add it to your goal. So I decided to challenge myself to “Try Something New”.
I decided to learn embroidery at a beautiful place in Cambridge called Gather Here. I come from a grandmother who paints, embroiders, cooks and sews, and a mother who sews, knits, and crochets. Yet, after getting myself tangled in string and pinning myself, I think I will just be happy that my craft-claim to fame is the ability to use a glue gun to fix toys and stitch witchery to mend pants. But the point is I tried something new. While it is not for me, it definitely taught me something. I am still crafty.
When I checked in to Gather Here, I got to Level 2 of the “Handmade Hero” badge on Foursquare because I’ve checked in at 5 different craft stores. It was then that I realized that while I don’t sew or knit, I am creative. And you know what, I’ll take it.
You can engage with DailyFeats via Facebook, Twitter, online or on your phone. Its free so check it out! And if you register in June, use code CharleneChronicles100 to get 100 bonus points to start off on earning your rewards!

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post, but did receive a complimentary embroidery lesson thanks to DailyFeats.
I can’t believe you have time to learn something new with a new baby and toddler. You are impressive! Embroidery is fun though! I am self taught through a book so I fake it.
