One of my favorite new makeup finds is from Clarins. Seriously, I’m hopelessly in love with Clarins’ new Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector for Spring 2015.
It’s rich and creamy, so I feel like I’m putting on lip balm in addition to the color of a lipstick. Although, I wouldn’t really put this in the category of lipstick. Yet, I wouldn’t put this in the category of a lip-gloss. It provides subtle color with a hint of shine to make it noticeable and soft in terms of feel and look. It’s like a lipstick and a gloss decided to have a baby together.
There are six shades in the line, but I want to mention my favorite two, because I think they are so worthy for you to stop reading this post and drive straight to your local Clarins counter. They are called Clarins My Pink Lip Balm and Clarins Red Lip Balm.
The Red is the red that you get when you mix a clear lipstick with a red one. A subtle red that is perfect for spring and summer or when you just need a little color oomph, but don’t want to glam up your lips like you are about to walk the red carpet. It is my lip color of choice when I want extra color. I can look put together when picking up the kids, without looking like I tried too hard or forgot to take it off after a date night with the hubby.
My Pink, on the other hand, has technology in it that reacts to your body’s chemistry to create the shade of pink that is right for you. Hence, the name ‘My’ pink. You put it on, and in about 15 minutes, the hue has shifted to the pink that can be, literally, your signature color. It is the perfect neutral, since it is your neutral that you can wear to look polished. Yet it’s so subtle that doesn’t seem like you tried to hard to get ready in the morning. I loved it so much that I got some extras – one to leave in the car, one in my purse and one in my makeup drawer.
One other point to note is that the packaging is slim and slick. So it’s easy to tuck into a pocket or a small cosmetic bag, which is a nice bonus in my opinion.
With winter almost over and spring almost here, it’s time to change it up, and what an easy way to do it with a new product and a new color from Clarins!
