Last week I got a chance to see the latest Clarins products on the market this spring and talk to Clarins experts on makeup tips and advice for us busy women. I also got to take home product samples to share my favorites with you.
New Makeup Colors for Spring 2016
First is a new color in the Multi Blush cream blush line, called Rose – perfect soft, pink color for spring. I love this blush option because you can use it on your lips, cheeks and eyelids. It provides a consistent ‘palette’ of color, but it reacts different on those areas of your face. Thus, each area has its own take on the color so it doesn’t look matchy but cohesive. Just use your finger to blend on your cheeks, dap on your lips and swipe across your eyelid. There are other colors too for your best match, but Rose is the newest. ($38 – BEST BUY)
Another new shade is in the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector product line. If you aren’t familiar with this lip gel, it has a 3d shimmer in a sheer, but shaded enough, color. Wear alone or over lipstick. The newest shades are Plum and Toffee Pink Shimmer. The former is a gorgeous raspberry color that would work in winter and summer, and the Toffee Pink is a great neutral! ($25 each)
More colors are new for the spring in Clarins’ traditional lipstick called Rouge Eclat. These are major vibrant colors that protect against dehydration. New colors are Hot Rose, Pink Cherry, Pink Blossom, and Rose Praline. ($27 each)
New Makeup Products for Spring 2016
A new Clarins product is the Ombre Iridescente. It is a cream to powder eyeshadow with a sparkling finish. If you haven’t been a fan of shimmer shadows, give this one a go. It is not shimmery from glitter (which can sit in eye wrinkles.) The shimmer is from little light particles that are different sizes so it blends well on the eyelid. The three colors that work cohesively are silver ivory (highlight), silver pink (all over) and silver plum (contour). ($24 each)
New Skin Care Products for Spring 2016
While this product could be consider makeup, I put the new Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Broad Spectrum SPF50 Sunscreen Multi-Protection Tint in the skin care category as it is primarily sunscreen protection. Yet, it has a tint (either light, medium or dark) to even out the skin tone while providing protection against UV rays, free radicals and pollution. ($44 – BEST BUY)
While this could also be considered makeup, the Self Tanning Milky Lotion primarily is a non-stop hydration option for your face and body, with the benefit of a self-tanner built in. The ingredients moisturize, comfort and soften skin while giving a natural looking tan within 24 hours. The milky texture reduces streaks and uneven application for a golden glow. ($38)
For the Millenial Mom, there is a new face moisturizer that targets the first signs of aging and protects again life stressors like lack of sleep and work stress. Clarins has had a robust Day/Night moisturizing line for 30 somethings, 40 somethings, and 50 somethings . This one targets that in-between stage between 20 and 30 year olds who still have a busy lifestyle, but need to protect the skin to prevent early aging impact from those stresses. (Day $53, Night $56)
