In my opinion, Valentine’s Day should be about chocolate. Lots of it. So here is a super-yum chocolate-y recipe to (literally) whip up.
It only takes about 10 minutes to prepare, but does need 4 hours in the refrigerator to firm up before eating, so take that into account. Makes about 24 servings, and you can cut the calories by getting sugar free pudding mix, fat free whipped topping and/or fat free cream cheese. It is also possible to make this organic by choosing organic ingredients too.
What you need:
- 35 Oreo cookies (or similar brand)
- 6 Tablespoons of melted butter
- 1 package (8 ounces) of cream cheese (soft)
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tub (12 ounces) of Cool Whip (or similar brand)
- 3 1/4 cup milk
- 2 packages (4 serving size) of Jello Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
What to do:
Step One: Place cookies in food processor and process until fine crumbs. Transfer to a bowl and add melted butter till mixed well. Press into the bottom of a 13×9 baking dish. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Step Two: In the interim, in another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk with wire whisk until blended. Stir in 1 1/4 cups of the whipped topping. Take out the crust from the fridge and spread this cream cheese mixture over the crust.
Step Three: Pour 3 1/4 cups of milk into a bowl. Add the two packages of dry pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk until well-blended. Spoon over the cream cheese layer you made above. Then spread remaining whipped topping over that.
Step Four: Refrigerate for 4 hours.
Then dig in! Heavenly creamy chocolate-ness.
