Back in June, I wrote about the amazing and unique program called Look Good Feel Better that helps women feel better mentally and physically as they battle cancer. Now the Look Good Feel Good program is partnering with women’s fashion retailer C. Wonder and The Fashion Project, the leading online clothing donation and resale destination, to raise awareness and funds for Look Good Feel Better.
Fashion Fights Cancer
Look Good Feel Better is a public service program celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Developed by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and delivered through collaboration with the American Cancer Society and the Professional Beauty Association, it offers free workshops (over 15,000 of them!) and other educational resources that teach beauty and styling techniques to women who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment to help them manage the appearance side effects. They have provided services to almost one million people and there are over 6000 volunteers. While the focus is on women, they also provide support for teens and men too with different programs.
If you or someone close to you has been impacted by cancer, you know that the appearance changes while coping with cancer. These changes can impact self-esteem, sense of confidence, and hope, at a time when s/he needs them the most.
From now through September 18th, you can help support the Look Good Feel Good program. You can donate gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories in a donation bin at participating C. Wonder locations or online. The Fashion Project will then sell the donated items online and 55% of the proceeds from each online sale will be donated to Look Good Feel Better. Plus, you’ll also get 20% off any C. Wonder online purchase of $100 or more.
C. Wonder is one of several lifestyle and consumer products brands being developed by Chris Burch, founder and CEO of Burch Creative Capital,.Mr. Burch has been a strategic investor in multiple technology and luxury brands, including Aliph (Jawbone), NextJump, PowerMat, Voss Water and Tory Burch.
The Fashion Project is the industry leader in online clothing donation. Since its founding in 2012, Fashion Project has worked with over 300 non-profit partners and powered donation programs for the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Joie, Milly, Helmut Lang, and more.

To celebrate, there will also be in-store events at the above locations on Wednesday, August 27th from 6-8pm (local time). The events will feature light bites, sips and styling tips. Ten percent of the sales during the events will be donated to Look Good Feel Better. Additionally, any guest attending will receive 20% off their purchase during the event and a free tote with purchase.
I hope you can make one of the in-person events or shop for a good cause online in the coming weeks! Plus, there is also an online Twitter party on Tuesday, August 26th at 1pm ET to share the details, the causes and win some prizes.
I personally am excited about cleaning out my closet, supporting a great cause and, heck, getting a new pair of shoes in the process {because a girl always needs new shoes!} Plus, I can say to the Hubby, “But it is all for a good cause!”
