Adult Coloring Books Trend

THE BARNES & NOBLE ALL-AMERICAN ART UNWIND ENCOURAGES ADULTS TO JOIN IN A CELEBRATION OF COLORING

The trend of adult coloring is sweeping the nation with coloring books selling millions of copies and topping best-seller charts, and Barnes & Noble is inviting customers to celebrate coloring with The Barnes & Noble All-American Art Unwind event on Saturday November 14th.

Coloring offers a number of health benefits including relaxation, improved fine motor skills and renewed focus, which has led to an explosion of participation from adults everywhere. It’s not just for kids! Here is a video explaining the benefits.

The Barnes & Noble stores will give customers an opportunity to take part in a nationwide coloring project where they can color a piece of art designed by renowned artist Millie Marotta, creator of the international bestselling Animal Kingdom and Tropical World coloring books. Customers can then upload a photo of their work to Instagram or Twitter with a special hashtag to help create a national digital art mosaic, and visit www.BNArtUnwind.com to see if their work is selected for inclusion, along with that of other customers from around the country.

Connect, Create and Color

Customers can personalize with color a selection of greeting cards and envelopes from Hallmark that they can send to friends and family. Customers can also share their creations on social media with the #BNColoringContest hashtag for a chance to win a one-year supply of Hallmark cards featuring two greeting card lines new to Barnes & Noble stores this fall: Shoebox Greetings and Hallmark Signature.

Then get a chance to play with color, using different illustration styles and art supplies featuring some of today’s bestselling coloring books and artist supplies.

All of this is taking place on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at all Barnes & Noble locations nationwide.

So find your inner child and have some fun! If you can’t make the event, pick up a coloring book and color along side your kids. Consider framing your colored art for unique and personal art work in your home. Makes for great chats when guests visit and can also be a fun gift when presented in a frame to families and friends. Find an image of something they like (e.g. butterflies) and colors that suit a room in their home or their favorite colors for a personal touch!
