Beads to Briefs: Fab Finds

I had the privilege of going to Getting Gorgeous in New York this month. Yes, the privilege of receiving an invitation, the privilege of being with some of the most fashion minded bloggers in the biz, and the privilege of sneaking away from my pre-Blogger Bash preparations! Despite my schedule, how can one pass up the opportunity to learn about the pampering, beauty and good-for-you things?

Some of the sponsors that were at Getting Gorgeous included:

Stokke. I’ve been a mega fan of Stokke since my baby days. No joke, I sit on the Trip Trapp daily. It is the perfect high chair, that doesn’t look like a high chair, that becomes great seating for the entire family. I’ve never written a review about it before, as I always wanted another one for review, but I did write about my second favorite Stokke product, the stroller!

BALI Intimates. BALI is an intimate apparel brand, under the same umbrella as Hanes (my personal panty favorite – just sayin’) and I was so excited to see its display of full briefs (the hot undie trend!) and bras that you can sleep in. Really, I think every women should have a sleeping bra. Keeps those girls tucked in tight while you’re sleeping so they don’t learn to go all wibbly-wobbly when you are awake!

BALI

Trollbeads. Super fun concept where you pick a bracelet (leather or metal), a bead (simple or ornate) and select a lock (it is art in and of itself) to create your own wrist wrap. Trollbeads also have necklaces, earrings, rings and more for full on accessorizing. Once you get pieces, you can mix and match, so you can create looks daily! At Getting Gorgeous, you could make a bracelet on site, but I didn’t have the time to do so, so nothing to share! Yet, I am currently daydreaming about the rose gold bead and the dragonfly bead. Ah, the fashion possibilities!

Liquid Oxygen. I really was taken by this brand. As a Mom in her 40s, you’d think I’d be done with acne breakouts by now, but with the stress of planning Blogger Bash, and other Mom stresses, I break out on a consistent basis. Yet, I’m getting older, so my skin can’t tolerate the harsh ingredients of acne products that I used in my teens. The Liquid Oxygen brand is soap-free, oil-free, dye-free, fragrance-free and alcohol-free, and if you use it, you might be acne-free! There is no Benzoyl Peroxide, as in so many other acne products. Personally, when I use Benzoyl Peroxide products, it dries out my skin. Those dry flakes then get into my pores and clog them, causing more acne. {Not the look I was going for!) This product appears to be different and as a result, I’m excited to give it a go.

Kodak Moments. The technology that is out there, where you can print a picture directly from your phone, is real. Not sci-fi! No more downloading the photos, uploading the photos, reloading the paper, and printing. All of which takes forever and the reason why all of the pictures of my kids live on my computer. If this sounds like you, check out the Kodak site for the myriad of printing options. The app is Apple and Android friendly. Order prints from your PC or tablet or phone. You can even create a photo book in the App too! Now I can wait for an appointment and make a yearly birthday book for my kids. I love when I can multi-task!

For food sponsors, Getting Gorgeous had Cocktail Caviar, KeVita, The Backyard Food Company, and Chobani. Unfortunately, I had to miss them in my quick foray to say hello to the Getting Gorgeous hostesses, Audrey McClellan and Vera Sweeney, but my mouth is watering just thinking about the deliciousness.

Lastly, I wanted to learn more about Spa Chicks on the Go. Okay, maybe a little less learning about them and more of using their on site services! With the Blogger Bash planning, I really could have used a back massage. However, I had to admire from afar the onsite pampering for offices, conferences, and events. They offer everything from massages, nail services, makeup, and, my personal pampering favorite, eye lash bars on-the-go! They are based in NYC, so definitely make note of their website the next time you are planning a party!

I loved seeing the newest products out there and learning more about them. Lots of fun things out there for us ladies – beads, briefs, baby gear, back massages, banning breakouts, and more. It’s the little things that make us feel gorgeous everyday!
